President's Message
Presidents Message
Dear ISNACC members,
Happy New Year! I hope this message finds you well and energized for a productive year ahead. As your incoming president, I am truly honoured and excited to lead ISNACC in the coming year.
It is inspiring to reflect on how far we have come since our founding in 1999. I fondly remember our very first conference at GB Pant Hospital in Delhi, organized by Dr. Mary Abraham and her team, of which I was fortunate to be a part of !! Since then, I've closely followed ISNACC's remarkable progress. Our membership has grown significantly, now representing diverse regions across India and even reaching overseas. Our journal, JNACC, is continually improving its readership and is working towards getting further indexing. Our teaching and training programmes have expanded impressively, now including a post-doctoral fellowship (PDF) in neurocritical care, in addition to the established PDF in neuroanaesthesia. Our Acute Neuro Care (ANC) workshops and e-learning initiatives are also gaining considerable traction. Furthermore, we are actively exploring more international collaborations in education and research and creating exciting opportunities for knowledge and skill exchange with our other neuroscience colleagues. The enthusiastic participation of our members, both seasoned professionals and bright young minds, in various ISNACC endeavors have been instrumental in our success.
The previous Governing Council team deserves credit for their outstanding contributions. The creation of the Academy of Neuroanaesthesiology and Neurocritical care (A-NANC), recognizing the achievements of our graduates and teachers through formal convocation ceremonies, has been exceptionally well-received. The implementation of an inclusive and transparent election process for ISNACC office bearers has also been a fantastic initiative, opening doors for more deserving individuals to come in. We look forward to building on these successes with many more innovative initiatives.
Of course, there's always more to achieve, and we have miles to go! Our aim is to broaden the reach of neuroanaesthesia knowledge and standardize its practice throughout India. We'll be focusing on enhancing teaching and training programmes, encouraging high-quality research, and staying abreast of the latest global advancements in our field.
I am particularly enthusiastic about the contributions of our younger members. They are well-read and trained, full of energy and fresh ideas, eager to excel, and receptive to guidance. With their passion and dedication, and the collective efforts of all our members working selflessly towards our shared goals, I have no doubt that ISNACC will reach even greater heights in the years ahead.
I look forward to collaborating with each one of you on this exciting journey.
With Regards
Dr. Pragati Ganjoo, M.D
